Hi,Actually there's more to this. The tree from Unity's Standard Assets called "Palm" still does not wave, using the methods you pointed out.

The Terrain editor has an option for 'bending' the tree's under the wind settings options that you should use when using "place trees" or "mass place trees".Regular trees (not created in the terrain...

You can also go to the asset store and download the free palm tree asset: http://u3d.as/656 It uses a script to make the leaves sway in the wind
